Organizational overhaul
An organizational overhaul, also called an organizational diagnosis, is a thorough analysis of an organization’s (department’s) improvement opportunities.
An organizational overhaul is helping to ensure a progressive development, from processing a common view of all major challenges the organization faces. The inspection reveals the causal relationships that underlie the problems in the organization. An organizational overhaul also involves the preparation of the basis of a single prioritized action plan, the scope, sequence and process developed by a representative group of organization leaders and other key people - according to a fixed, short and intense course.
The controlled process creates additional framework for development because it:
• promotes an environment of cooperation and team spirit.
• makes working frictions (conflicts) natural and constructive.
• participants learn how to identify, assess and resolve issues in a group context.
• creates energy and will to implement the actions and changes that are needed.
Method
An organizational overhaul implemented as a decision-making process - data collection, data analysis, development of options, evaluation of solutions, choice of solutions and implement the chosen solution. Quality is guaranteed because it is the department's own leaders and key people who work with it.
The results are ensured partly by drafting the action plan being formulated by those who must perform it and partly by the introduction (during the seminar) of the plan's first element - and partly as a requirement from our side to manage the plan for the first 3 - 5 months.
Result
The participants and the responsible management will know the key issues and corresponding opportunities for improvement within:
• Goals, plans and strategies - and the associated managerial work
• Daily assignments
• An organization's allocation of tasks and responsibilities.
• Attitudes and climate in the organization
It will become clear which issues need to be addressed urgently, which tasks can be solved internally, and what cannot be resolved by the organization alone.
Prerequisites
It is a prerequisite for the diagnosis that there are the necessary leaders, key personnel, powers and competence present during the process, so that the solutions and actions decided upon can be initiated and implemented.
